1996: Extended Life Coolant

Extended Life Coolant, originated at Texaco, provided organic acid protection against corrosion and scale. It was no longer necessary to continuously test for and add the sacrificial Supplemental Coolant Additives, a time-consuming maintenance task. By providing a far more stable chemical system to protect cylinder liners and prevent scale from accumulating on surfaces like the inside of radiator cooling tubes, ELC has made cylinder liner pitting and clogged radiators problems modern truckers only hear stories about.
