1988: Aerodynamic Peterbilt 372

The Peterbilt 372 aerodynamic cabover was believed by many experts to be the most aerodynamically perfect truck ever built at the time. While its egg-like shape proved only minimally popular, except with a few large fleets, the vehicle paved the way in aerodynamic design and provided unprecedented low cruise horsepower requirements. Peterbilt engineers say they incorporated many of its design features in later models.
